Ideal for Spectrum-X deployments, it supports both standard leaf/spine designs with top-of-rack switches and end-of-row topologies. It offers connectivity from 1 to 800GbE and a total throughput of 51.2Tb/s.

Does this switch come with a network operating system?

Answer:

This switch comes with either Cumulus Linux or the ONIE bootloader. For the ONIE version of the switch, you can get the open source NVIDIA pure SONiC. We also recommend you get support to get all the features and to ensure success with SONiC.

Answer:

Yes, you can pair these switches with NVIDIA's BlueField-3 DPUs for accelerated generative AI performance. You would also need to add LinkX optics and the Spectrum-X license to enable all the features and ensure proper connectivity.

Do I need to order the Spectrum-X license for this platform?

Answer:

To enable the software-defined, hardware-accelerated feature set required for generative AI on Ethernet, you would need to get the Spectrum-X license. Without the license, features such as RoCE extensions are not available. If your deployment is a standard out of the box RoCE, then the Spectrum-X license is not needed. The RoCE exension features that enable Spectrum-X are adaptive routing, congestion control, and performance isolation.
