The DCS208 5812-54X-O-AC-F switch is a cost-effective, high performance, 1.44T open network switch designed for data center fabric, delivering enhanced performance and flexibility. It features 48 x SFP+ switch ports, supporting 10GbE (DAC, 10GBASE-SR/LR) or 1GbE (1000BASE-T/SX/LX), and 6 x 40 QSFP switch ports, each accommodating 40GbE (DAC, 40GBASE-SR4/LR4) or 4 x 10GbE (DAC or fiber breakout cable). The DCS208 switch also offers Port Grouping, allowing the grouping of 4 x 10G ports into one 40G port at the physical layer for optimal bandwidth utilization and a 300 m optical reach over MMF (subject to NOS options). It supports VXLAN and NVGRE tunneling in hardware for network virtualization.
This rack-mountable switch is compatible with standard 19″ racks and can be mounted in 21″ Open Racks using the Open Rack Switch Adapter. It supports hot/cold aisle configurations with port-to-power and power-to-port airflow SKUs. The DCS208 switch has all ports on the front, while the PSUs and fan modules are located on the rear. It is equipped with hot-swappable, load-sharing, redundant AC or -48 VDC PSUs, and a 12 VDC power input option. Additionally, the switch features hot-swappable 4+1 redundant fan modules for maximum reliability. The DCS208 switch offers various management options, including Ethernet and console RJ-45 ports and a USB storage port. The hardware switch comes pre-loaded with the Open Network Install Environment (ONIE) for automated loading of compatible open-source and commercial NOS offerings, ensuring a seamless and efficient deployment.
