The Edge-Core AS9926-24DB COR580 is a high-performance 9.6T fabric router designed for carrier, data center, or transport networking applications. Built with a 1RU form factor, the COR580 is powered by Broadcom StrataDNX family SoC silicon and features 24x400G QSFP-DD Fabric Interfaces (FIF).
When interconnected with the Edgecore COR550 (Jericho2 Leaf), the COR580 can be deployed in a spine and leaf architecture, supporting up to 24 COR550 leaf interconnections. This complete solution enables the creation of scalable and flexible core network infrastructures, providing a total of 96 Tbps of bandwidth for routing, packet processing, and efficient traffic management.
Preloaded with the Open Network Install Environment (ONIE), the COR580 supports the installation of compatible Network Operating Systems (NOS), including open-source options like Open Network Linux and commercial NOS offerings. Key features include powerful and scalable fabric switch capabilities, PAM4/50GE and NRZ/25GE configurations for interconnections to J+/J2C devices, Broadcom StrataDNX Ramon silicon for high-scale capacity and traffic management, dynamic load balancing, and support for single-stage and three-stage fabric configurations.
Additionally, the AS9926-24DB COR580 offers fabric multicast and multicast load balancing, three pipes with flexible allocation, a high-performance Intel Xeon Broadwell-DE 8-core CPU with integrated BMC, front-to-back airflow SKUs, hot-swappable 1+1 redundant DC-DC/AC-DC PSUs, and 5+1 redundant hot-swappable fan modules.
Ideal use cases for the AS9926-24DB include Carrier Ethernet core, metro/edge switches and routers, data center switch/router, packet transport switch, mobile backhaul, and enterprise switch and router.
