Question:

What’s the difference between the DS4000 and DS4001?

[email protected]
13-Jul-2025

Answer:

They are very similar. The primary differences are the Celestica DS4001 supports higher sub-rate flexibility, including 168 x 50GbE and 64 x 200GbE ports, compared to the DS4000, which tops out at 144 x 10/25/50GbE or 128 x 100GbE. The DS4001 also features a larger 70MB buffer (vs. 64MB), newer BMC hardware (DDR4 and dual 32MB flash).

Question:

Can this switch support both airflow directions?

[email protected]
13-Jul-2025

Answer:

Yes.

Question:

Can I break out the 400G ports into lower speeds like 25G or 100G?

[email protected]
13-Jul-2025

Answer:

Yes. Each QSFP-DD port can be broken out, enabling support for up to 144× 10/25/50G or 128× 40/100G sub-ports.

Question:

What types of optics are supported?

[email protected]
13-Jul-2025

Answer:

QSFP-DD optics are supported up to 3 meters for DAC cables, with power support up to 12W (B2F) and 20W (F2B) airflow configurations. This includes 400G FR4, DR4, and 4x100G breakout optics.

Question:

Can I run commercial NOS like NVIDIA Cumulus or IP Infusion on this switch?

[email protected]
13-Jul-2025

Answer:
