S9501-18SMT The UfiSpace S9501-18SMT is a lightweight and economic disaggregated cell site gateway (DCSG) that can aggregate both legacy and next-gen BBU data traffic. It enables the deployment of open and disaggregated transport network services, addressing the changing needs of the backhaul transport as telecoms transition towards 5G New Radio (5G NR). This high-performance, versatile open networking white box router is designed to meet evolving requirements, effectively lowering costs and rapidly scaling existing services for edge computing, mobile backhaul, and broadband access applications. Compatible with IP Infusion OcNOS as well as other open-source and commercial NOS offerings, it is configurable with optics and software.
Equipped with Broadcom’s Qumran-UX merchant silicon, a powerful quad-core processor, 18 high-speed interfaces, and full timing features supporting IEEE 1588v2 and SyncE, the S9501-18SMT is future-proof and ready for the demands of 5G. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor deployments, this router features redundant, hot-swappable components that increase availability, reliability, and reduce maintenance costs.
